Well, phrased like that...goodness, the whole thing is sort of goofy, now isn't it? I definitely see a humorous side to this story. But still...
We women have been raised by a media which coddled us with images of perfection from a very young age. Fashion magazines promoted (and of course, still do) the value of altering one's self to become the facsimile of what we see on the glossy pages before us. To dream the impossible dream...
So, is it any wonder that a populace of brainwashed chicks should look upon Jamie Lee Curtis' action as shocking or brilliant or brave? I think it's a good thing we do. It suggests there's reason for hope - we're not completely indoctrinated by Madison Avenue advertising.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jamie Lee Curtis didn't really have a child, did she?
I thought that she was incapable of having a child, because of her unique sex organs situation.

my husband always says the same thing, but I think the old story that Jamie Lee is a hermaphrodite is pretty much bunk. He loves to bring it up, though, whenever one of those phone commercials comes on.

That grousing Boston Herald columnist has issues. (Look her up on Google's image search.)
Jamie Lee's husband is a very lucky man.
